What we do
Combining our three core specialisms with cross sector experience from a world-class team, we transform businesses through the built environment and enhance the way people work.
The Stroke Association team came to us with concerns their existing office space was adversely affecting their employees’ ability to share knowledge and communicate amongst teams. We worked in close collaboration with the Stroke Association space team to come up with a modern workplace design that introduced new spaces to encourage interaction and the sharing of ideas. With significant future growth plans it was important to the Stroke team that their new workplace be flexible and adaptable to accommodate expansion. In order to gain an in-depth understanding of what was going to work best for the Stroke Association, the AIS design team undertook a series of workplace studies and employee engagement workshops. The culmination of which formed the key elements in creating a restructured floor plan – to introduce more smaller meeting rooms and huddle spaces, a space for communal team gatherings and areas for individuals to retreat to for quiet working.
Introducing a mix of working spaces, including activity-based work zones, project work zones, workers lounge space, phone booths and a large community style kitchen and break out area for company gatherings created a progressive workplace ecosystem.
Spread in amongst these collaborative zones are some small 1 on 1 pods that give people the chance to retreat when they require the capability to do quiet work. The open reception area creates an open and welcoming experience for visitors and enhances a transparent company culture.
Opportunities to connect are extended throughout the rest of their workplace, with many options for work zones ultimately driving a holistic cultural transformation across the organisation.
Meeting areas were equipped with an array of technology including feature monitors, customised AV kit, whiteboards and power charging stations provide diversity of function for staff to choose. By providing this level of flexibility employees and teams can easily adapt areas to their liking, without restriction, to achieve their goals.
The colourful and fun aesthetics of the space were inspired by the Stroke Association brand, complimenting their energy and ultimately connecting staff closer to the brand, to create a memorable experience.
AIS are progressive in their thinking and have a excellent ability to identify potential issues and give a workable solution, the delivery team and project management both onsite and from AIS core team shows a fully customer orientated approach leading to customer confidence and a high standard of completion.
