Allianz Sion Hall

Working within the historic Grade II listed Sion Hall situated on the banks of London’s River Thames, we helped convert this memorable office space into a comfortable and contemporary workplace that is both inspirational and flexible for Allianz Global Investors executive team.

Working through strict planning legislation allowed us to allocate a purpose for each existing area

Having worked with the AIS team previously on their London head office, the Allianz Global Investors real estate team appreciated the depth of expertise and project management capability of the AIS team and once again enlisted us to look after this the latest acquisition in their global real estate portfolio.

Strict planning legislation meant we were unable to make complex structural changes to the building. Through intelligent space planning we allocated a purpose to each existing area, carefully considering the adjacency of each space to ensure flow and function were optimised across each of the three floors.

In the refurbished space, travelling employees can quickly settle in an invigorating work environment

Seeking to embody the firm’s core purpose of “active asset management” after entering the space through reception you are met with a large hot-desking area which opens into the main atrium space, above which sits a number of private offices and meeting rooms. This allows travelling employees to quickly and easily find a space to work from, and in doing so creates a real feeling of energy within the space, invigorating the environment and setting the tone for the rest of the office.

The lower floors were redesigned to offer space for collaboration and social interaction

Moving downstairs to the heart and home of the office is the canteen and kitchen area, a relaxed and homely style space which encourages staff to connect and socialise.

The ground floor desking space is broken up with a number of flexible furniture solutions, such as high bench tables, sofas and pods that allow for both private and teamwork encounters to occur in a comfortable and convenient manner.

The finished result was a beautifully restored heritage listed building.

Restoring this heritage listed building to a new purpose required the careful appointment and coordination of subcontractors throughout the construction period. We managed all aspects of construction, keeping Allianz GI, it’s neighbours and building management informed along the way to ensure seamless delivery.
