We transformed this once-conventional CAT A office space in West London into a bright, inviting and adaptable collection of office spaces – original and creative, yet flexible enough in its design to appeal to a variety of potential tenants and business sectors.
CAT A office fit-outs can offer a challenging workplace design brief, in that you often don’t know who will be moving in, but must anticipate what they desire from an office space. For Aurora House, we first identified the basics that every potential tenant is looking for – a welcoming reception area for visitors, great use of floor plate space, lots of natural light and an interior design that is stylish while being easily customisable.
Our project scope of works included everything from floor finishes to complex mechanical works, the biggest challenge being how to make the atrium a much more engaging and usable environment. We rotated the lift cars to open directly into the atrium space, creating a much more secure environment in reception whilst encouraging people to circulate into and through the atrium space, bringing life and movement. Elsewhere, we re-designed joinery and finishes, redecorated existing cores, reconfigured staircases and external wall elevations, applied new floor finishes and refurbished toilets and shower rooms. Externally we completed landscaping works and installed LED external façade lighting. Mechanical works included the complete removal and redesign of the existing mechanical, electrical and fire safety system.
A bright, contemporary and well-considered workplace design for attracting high-quality tenants. The reconfigured atrium floods the reception area below with an abundance of natural light and creates a fantastic first impression. A clean colour palette combined with a range of textures and finishes creates visual interest and tactility, while the modern furniture pieces are able to be moved and rearranged as needed. Outside, the building façade features colourful accents and LED lighting that clearly sets Aurora House apart from its neighbours.
