The cycle of refurbishment and fit out of workspaces mean frequent layout, equipment and finishes changes. These actions come with significant environmental impact.

While a better built environment unlocks future potential, in doing so it is too often contributing to our future problems. In being more intentional in our process and more deliberate in our outputs, we are on a mission to create a more sustainable, inclusive and connected future.

We aim to exceed client’s expectations in delivery, design and now sustainability.

Project Zero

Whilst we have strived in many ways over recent years to grow sustainably and reduce our impacts at the same time, we recognise that we need to do so much more.

Going forward the way we work needs to be reviewed to be more meaningful and accountable. Our carbon management plan “Project Zero” is our pledge for change to ensure that we make rapid advances in meeting net-zero ambitions, re-programming how we design, develop and operate space and outlines our commitment to being netzero by 2030.

We’ve looked closely at how our day-to-day decisions can affect the environment and are now taking action to change the way we work. This means when we tender, we have already done a significant amount of work reducing potential impacts for the project.

Project Zero is structured around three key themes:

Strategy and Operations

We recognise the need to go further in integrating sustainability into our business strategy, operations, processes and governance structures. Looking at how we work, our design choices, supply chain and site processes to place the climate at the heart of our decision making.

Circular Economy

We’re on target to achieve Circular Economy projects by 2025, ensuring produce reuse and refurbishment opportunities are maximised. Our projects will improve people’s health and wellbeing, while being designed for durability, reconfiguration, adaptability, and disassembly.

Emission Reduction

Continuing the reporting of our own emissions through the Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting framework and take energy actions on our Scopes 1 and 2 emissions and business mileage, as well as pledging to reduce embodied carbon.
