We are looking for a self-starting, focused and articulate Business Development Executive to work in a supportive and target driven environment, working closely with a diverse team.

Good initiative and attention to detail are essential, along with strong analytical skills.

This role will be responsible for researching, qualifying and developing proposal information for the Business Development team.

Job description:

We are looking for a motivated, focused and skilled Pre-Contracts Professionals at a Senior level to join and support our existing Pre-Contracts team across the AIS Group.

The ideal candidate will have worked in the commercial interiors industry, with an estimating or quantity surveying background and have extensive experience with the analysis of tender documentation and the assessment of the responding strategy required including preliminary budgets, resourcing, risk analysis, value engineering, scheduling and the definition of bid packages.

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills are required, as well as the flexibility to work across a range of different projects.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and analysis of tender documentation to interpret the clients brief
  • Develop clear, concise and appropriate cost plans in line with design, sales and subcontractors
  • Liaising with the client, suppliers, engineers, designers and architects to ensure competitive pricing
  • Accurate Cost planning and value engineering to meet client requirements
  • Producing detailed project programmes
  • JCT contract knowledge
  • Experience working with building control and the acquisition of planning approvals and permits
  • Understanding of various construction/fit out methods and appropriate H&S measures

Job description:

We are looking for a motivated, focused and skilled Laboratory Designer to join and support our existing Life Sciences focussed team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive prior experience of laboratory design, both wet and dry, fume and biosafety design, regulatory compliance experience and a good understanding of scientific processes.

Working alongside our experienced MEP team your designs must bring best practice in laboratory design and buildability to deliver efficient and compliant laboratory and workspaces to the life science sector.

You will be responsible for producing detailed design solutions and must possess excellent communication skills to confidently pitch and present winning designs to our clients and consultants.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately taking client briefs and analysing tender documentation to interpret the clients brief
  • Creating well considered and innovative concept design solutions and space plans for both laboratory and adjacent workspaces
  • Completing architectural site surveys and building analysis
  • Developing concept designs for the client, taking the client brief, brand identity, technical and scientific requirements, budget and project timescales into consideration
  • Producing relevant storyboards, drawing, sketches, text and data for the pitch proposal
  • Expertly presenting your designs work to the client
  • Successfully working with the client team to bring the concept design to life by selecting all finishes, agreeing layouts and design details.
  • Producing compliant designs in line withregulatory GxP compliance as well as building control regulations
  • Assessing, updating and maintaining all relevant design documentation, including (but not exclusive to): Design Tracker, Risk Registers, Issues Sheets and Finishes Schedules.
  • Attending project meetings and regularly checking that the works onsite comply with the signed off design.
  • Completing comprehensive snagging at the end of a project.
  • Overseeing the production of the As Built drawing packs and O&M information relating to your design.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience
  • Strong design ability
  • Experience of laboratory design both wet and dry
  • Knowledge and experience in the specification of specialist lab furniture and equipment
  • Strong understanding of laboratory compliance and building regulations
  • Experience controlling and leading the design process
  • Good communication skills, verbal, written and presentation
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team at all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketch-Up and Adobe Creative Suite, Revit would be an advantage

Job Summary:

As a Technical Designer with AIS, you will be responsible for producing detailed technical design solutions that should meet both the client and AIS’s objectives and expectations. You will be involved in the whole process from reviewing the clients brief and assisting with the pitch process through to the completion of the project on site.

Excellent detailed technical knowledge is a must and the ability to really engage with a project, to take on the nuances of the chosen building and align these with the clients and designers requirements are key to a being successful in this role. You will need to be commercially minded and have the ability to design within a budget and to tight time scales.

Responsibilities often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • To provide technical drawing support and assistance to the Creative team
  • To liaise with sub-contractors on technical aspects of design concepts in the pitch phase.
  • To liaise with sub-contractors to further develop technical aspects of design concepts in the design development phase.
  • To develop detailed project drawing packs.
  • To ensure our designs are adhering to building control regulations.
  • To work with the team and ensure successful project implementation
