Maximising impact through sustainable re-use
Sustainability was a core focus of the project, with material choices showcasing eco-friendly, recycled, and renewable products throughout. Approximately 66% of traditional desks and alternative seating were reused from previous office spaces. Additionally, the focus pods, furniture in the flex space, wellness room, and multi-faith room primarily consisted of reused furniture. As a result, 46% of the total furniture across the space was reused, significantly reducing landfill waste and supporting a circular economy.

Embedding innovation and flexibility
The use of dynamic lighting and screens throughout the space, enables the office to quickly adjust to the various identities of Shawbrook and its newly acquired brands, offering a seamless integration of brand agility. The reception desk is equipped with programmable lighting that creates unique patterns, visually reflecting different brand identities in an engaging and compelling manner.
The office layout also emphasises flexibility, featuring spaces like the training room that can easily be transformed into a larger, adaptable space by removing a folding wall. The collaboration area features unique, modular “building block” furniture that can be rearranged and configured differently to support project work or presentations. Additionally, bespoke meeting pods enhance flexibility, with removable panels that allow Shawbrook to adjust the layout as business needs change over time with minimal cost and effort.
